Great point- you must design specifically to help guide your customers through your process, whether it be buying a product, signing up for a service, or subscribing to a newsletter. Just because it's "pretty" doesn't mean it works. Some "pretty" and "cool" flash videos as an intro to a site annoys many visitors.
