There seems to be a period of time where buyers will not
purchase your offerings until you go through a phase of struggle…a "dead zone" of sorts. I don’t know why that’s so, but it’s as if
the public says until you’ve proven yourself and until we trust that you’re
going to be there, be around, and do a good job for us, we’re not going to give much weight to
your product…even if you seem to have an offering that fits the need.
We know for a fact that Google follows this very rule. They will not index or rank your new website for several months (it's called being in the "Sandbox") because they want to see whether you're a legitimate operation, or "going concern".
But I think this also applies not only to startups but to established businesses who are just beginning to truly market themselves for the first time.
Have you experienced the "dead zone"?
