Marketing is Writing
Prospects rarely buy anything without having read something about you. Therefore, you need to get into a habit of writing.
I typically hear the same thing, "I can't write". But the truth of the matter is that you're probably fine but you just don't spend much time doing it. The bottom line is that people like to read so in order to give them what they want, you need to write. You can always have someone edit what you
write, but it's the act of writing that starts the marketing ball rolling.
Writing creates ideas. It's rarely the other way around. Many times I have no
idea what I am going to write, but once I start, ideas just happen. What comes
about is often far greater than anything I could have simply thought and then
transferred to paper or screen.
Writing will help you have something to say. The more you write, the better you
will sell.
Writing will help you listen more actively. Finally, writing will transform you into an authority on whatever you do. Start writing and you'll see what I mean.
Your words, "writing creates ideas," are so true.
Pen and paper is available in almost every corner of my office. As a business owner ideas occur often, and I must document my thoughts at that exact moment, or I may lose that idea just as quickly.
Although I write books and other documents, I'm not above enrolling in a copywriting course to beef up my writing ability. It's an investment anyone who believes they cannot write might consider to make better connections with customers and sell more products or services.
